A group of teachers are demanding that a/c be installed in their classrooms. This project would cost the taxpayers a fortune, plus is completely unnecessary. Our school is situated in the northeastern section of the country. School is in sessions from early November until mid June. I respectfully run my home’s heating system from November until sometime in May. I have never bothered to invest in central a/c for my home. The summertime weather is rarely all that hot, plus doesn’t absolutely heat up until June. There is absolutely no need to purchase an overpriced cooling plan for the school. For the few weeks when the weather might actually be a bit overheated and humid, the teachers can open windows plus run box fans. If we were going to invest in a/c in any section of the school, I would command the gymnasium. The people I was with and I use the gymnasium for hoops games, wrestling matches, athletic practices, school dances, assemblies, testing plus much more. People from the community utilize the gym all year round. If there’s extra currency to spend, however, I would command we focus on the integrity of the heating plan plus air quality. The same heating plan has been operating since I was in school, fifteen years ago. It is not overly energy efficiency, makes a lot of noise, introduces dust plus other contaminants plus creates problems with overly dry air. I blame excessive absenteeism of the students plus faculty on the heating system. The people I was with and I should focus on updating the furnace plus adding air quality accessories, such as an media air cleaner or humidifier.
