I just had the HVAC tech out here to look at my system and he tried to tune it up but ended up having to replace my old electric heat pump with a new geothermal heat pump.
The bad news is the thing cost me more than I had planned to spend, but the good news is the pump is going to save me money in power bills and pay for itself in less than a year.
I didn’t realize how big of a difference a new heat pump can make but as I already got one power bill and noticed it is about 25% less, now I realize that the HVAC tech was right on the money about the savings. He’s been in the industry for a long time and knows a lot about it so I trust what he says. He said he is going to come back in a few months and take a look at my system to make sure it is clean and running optimally. I think we still have another two months of cold weather till we won’t need to run the central heat anymore so I should save even more money for two more months with the geothermal heat pump. Technology has done some amazing things with the industry and we all benefit from their inventions and new designs. Where would we be without these HVAC engineers who make it all happen? I used to be an engineer back in the day myself but didn’t like the stress of the job. I’ll let them do the dirty work.
