My kid is obsessed with candy corn. It’s her absolute number one candy & she waits all year for the fall season to roll around just so that she can find it in all the stores. She genuinely tries to stockpile it under her bed in her room so that she can have it year round. Well, last year, she had a sizable stash of candy corn in a plastic bin under her bed. This was all well & good until our pet snuck into her room & ripped open the bag. Then the pet got the bin tangled around her leg & dragged it through the home & down the stairs. There was candy corn everywhere, including inside our heating & a/c vents. The candy corn in the undefined vents wasn’t genuinely a sizable deal because the only air coming out of there was cooling the home off. But when the temperatures outside dropped & we had to turn on the furnace, it was a strange story! It turns out that when you turn the furnace on & the heating comes rushing through the heating vents, it melts the candy corn. I guess we should have thought about this before & had our ventilation method cleaned out. As it turns out, we had to call the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C company downtown to come & do a complete air duct cleaning because candy corn ended up melting & running down inside all of our air vents! It was such a sticky mess but at least it odored nice & sweet whenever the furnace kicked on.
