I do not know what would be worse- not having cooling while cooking an entire Thanksgiving feast, or not having heating while trying to cook the Thanksgiving feast! I think it is safe to say that living in a hot region, neither of these events would be much of an issue. The region where I live is mostly warm in the Fall weeks, in addition to even though not having a furnace do keep us hot while I was in our meal would be a bit awful. I think the people I was with and I could manage. One thing we do is light the wood burning fireplace! Many homes in this region are made of brick in addition to have a wood burning fireplace. Although not used much, the people I was with and I try to use the fire place any chance the people I was with and I get. Having the heating plan break down on a big holiday would be a superb excuse to light a fire in the fireplace. My family keeps space heating devices in the home for guests who might get cold in the middle of the night. For me personally, I do not like to sleep with any kind of heater, although I do like the chance of a space furnace first thing in the day. The big supper would not be ruined separate from a heater. It could truly be a fun thing to experience with the family, in addition to even make for a superb tale to tell for years to come.
