I used to be a personal shopper out on the coast. Basically this meant i went out and did the clothes shopping and food shopping for successful people that did not have the time to do it for themselves. It is a service that only plays is very high end markets, so I always work in cities where I can’t afford to live. Recently I had an opportunity to upgrade my job, and get into a more specialized field. Since I already had keys and access codes to people’s homes for deliveries, I started offering a full service HVAC package as well. My sister is a certified HVAC technician, and I figured that a lot of my clients might need work done on their home system from time to time. They would not want to wait around for an HVAC tech to come by, nor would they want the house to be empty during the work. This way I would be there to supervise the work, the heating, cooling or ventilation problems could be resolved, and the clients pays me a modest fee for the convenience. It has been working out so well for HVAC work so far I am going to bring a handyman on board to handle other small household repairs. I stopped doing personal shopping altogether, because the demand for HVAC the household repairs was so strong, and paid a lot better than shopping ever did. If I get any more regular customers I am going to need to find another HVAC tech to bring on board.
