Store A/C caused ceiling to collapse

I went to my usual grocery store last month and it was a mess.

The first thing I noticed when I walked into the store was how hot it was inside.

The second thing I noticed was that a large portion of the store was coned off and I could see that part of the ceiling had fallen in and there was a large garbage can collecting water that was dripping down from the roof. I finished my shopping as quickly as possible because I was worried that the entire ceiling might collapse. When I asked the cashier what had happened she explained that the air conditioner on the roof had leaked water onto the roof and that there was now a roof leak. They were working to fix it. I was surprised that they hadn’t shut the store down, under such conditions. So I wasn’t surprised a few days later when I found out that the store had been shut down because the air conditioner had done extensive damage to the roof. I hate to think of all of that food that probably went to waste. The entire roof would have to be redone. Over the next few weeks I saw cranes and ladder around the store. They had to take the air conditioner off to fix the roof. Then, just last week, they had a grand reopening. I went and they had some wonderful sales. But, the best part was that the air conditioner was working great again and the ceiling wasn’t falling in any more. I will be coming back but I hope they keep an eye on their air conditioner from now on.
