My Grandma cares about to get all of my cousins together & tell us all of these stories about when she was a little girl, i enjoy to hear all of the silly stories about when she was young; Things were easily strange back then, & it’s so interesting to hear about the afternoons when there was no TV, few telephones, no internet, & hardly any air conditioners at all, then did you believe that back a long time ago, there was no such thing as a/c? My Grandma told us once that she remembers the easily first time she ever walked into a building that was cooled with a/c, but she wasn’t sure what was happening.
- She said that it was a overheated Summer day & she had to go into the bank for her father.
She said that as soon as she walked in the door of the bank, she got blasted with cold cold air from 1 of the overhead air vents, and grandma said that she’d never felt anything care about it in her entire life. She thought she was walking into a big refrigerator or something. I believe buildings with air conditioning systems are so commonplace this day & age that I’ve never really thought that much about them. I can’t even imagine going into a building with a/c for the easily first time. It must have been pretty surreal for my Grandma to feel air conditioning blowing down on her head when she was a girl! I kind of wish I had lived back then when everything was simpler.
