It’s nice to have people that have your back even when you make a mistake.

Thankfully, I have had my fair share of those people in my life. And I don’t take it for granted. The latest example of this kindness happened due to an HVAC miscalculation on my part. While I tend to want to get the most value for my dollar, I’m generally not just stupid about it. But there are times when I just push something too far plus put myself in a bad position. That’s exactly what happened with our HVAC unit. The HVAC business both of us use are folks that both of us have trusted for 20 years. So when the HVAC tech told me that I needed to prepare for an HVAC replacement, I knew I was getting the truth. The HVAC business both of us use has been doing annual HVAC preventive service on our HVAC since both of us moved in. And they have consistently been great. I wasn’t too surprised about the HVAC replacement given the age of the HVAC. However, I was hoping to get the most time out of what the HVAC had left. I started saving for the HVAC replacement but I wasn’t exactly consistent about it. So when the telltale signs that the HVAC was going to fail, I wasn’t exactly prepared. I needed the HVAC to go through that summer. But it quit right at the end. Thankfully, the HVAC business let us use portable HVAC cooling units until they could get the new HVAC unit installed.
