I don’t guess how I survived those conditions.

When I was laboring, I had to go all over the world. I was stationed in several sites that I now look at fondly. When I was there, it wasn’t nearly as comfortable as I remember it being. I remember the first time I was stationed in the desert. It was a big culture shock considering I was from the north. I had never been in an area where it never rained plus the heat was enough to make my skin look prefer leather. I was sure they would a/c in the small house I was given. I was shocked to see fans in the ceiling, but no a/c. I was a visitor plus I didn’t rate a/c. I asked if there was a hotel around plus they told me there wasn’t a/c there either. I remember how I laid on my bed plus prayed for a breeze that I knew wouldn’t come. I almost welcomed it when they told me there was a sand storm coming. I was thinking I would entirely get some air movement, but I was wrong. All of the windows were boarded up tightly. I did get a slight breeze leaking through, but it was filled with sand. I woke up to almost an inch of sand on me plus I had to be dug out of my house. After a while, I got used to no a/c. When I got home, I was frigid for the first week. I didn’t want a/c on, but I welcomed a small space gas furnace my mother brought over for me to use.
