Ductless mini split system for converted garage

So now my garage has a window too

When I moved to the city, the only place I could afford to rent was a converted garage. It was not exactly legal but I really did not have too much to complain about. The rent was cheap, my dog was allowed, and it was big enough for me. The only thing I didn’t like was the one window air conditioning unit to cool the whole building. After suffering through half of the summer with inadequate heat, I asked my landlord if I could install a ductless mini split system in the garage instead. At first, he was against it and I could not figure out why. I told him that I would pay for the unit and install it myself. I finally figured out that he thought I would take the ductless air conditioner when I moved out and it would leave a mess. I signed a paper saying that I would leave the air conditioner when I moved out and that it would become his property. Well, he changed his tune after that. He even offered to help me install it and pay for half of it. We we aside a Saturday and got the ductless mini split system installed. We only had to drill one hole in the wall and the landlord was happy about that. And it works wonderfully. I am so happy with how cool it gets my little living space now. The following weekend we removed the window air conditioner and installed a class into the window. So now my garage has a window too. I just might stay here a while if the landlord keeps helping me fix up the place.
