For sure, I have a stubborn streak and I come by that pretty naturally.
- That’s clearly evidenced by our mom who is perhaps the most stubborn and independent minded person I’ve ever encountered.
She is nearly 69 now and still has the same mindset she is always had. However, reality is reality and she is just not physically capable of living the way she always has. But she just has a very difficult time accepting that reality. It takes a superb deal of compassion but some serious discussions just to get her to understand this. I mean both of us almost had to get into it just to upgrade her lake house with some modern residential Heating and Air Conditioning. The two of us grew up in that lake house and while I am thankful for the way our sister and I were raised, it’s very basic. There’s no traditional central a/c at all. My mother has heated with a wood stove up until just very recently. The fact is she just cannot manage the firewood and keeping the wood stove heating the way it’s required these days. Too often, I would make a surprise visit to find her in front of a space heating system with the lake house so cold… Enough is enough, so our sister and I had to have a very frank discussion with our mother. She was still so resistant even to having residential Heating and Air Conditioning. Finally, she relented to having the Heating and Air Conditioning corporation come out to inspect the home. The Heating and Air Conditioning professional said she was in a perfect situation to enjoy a ductless multi cut heating and cooling system. So both of us had the ductless heat pumps installed. I am just so thankful that I guess she is going to be warm this winter.
