An extremely slow afternoon at the office brought on a long conversation about heating and a/c with myself and others and our co-workers… I was shocked to discover that I spend cash just about twice as much to cool our tiny lodge as our coworker Larry does, however after all, Larry has a much greater house, it is practically a mansion, larry informed me of the fact that it all has to do with SEER, or seasonal energy efficiency ratio, however this measures how well your Heating and Air Conditioning performs; Most new oil heating systems and a/cs get scores of about 15 to 20, Larry mentioned to me, then he bragged and told myself and others that his Heating and Air Conditioning unit literally gets a SEER rating of 21.
I am not sure that I understand how the scoring works but I do understand that antique Heating and Air Conditioning systems, like mine, might not even register register a score at all. That is why I spend cash so much to the power supplier every week. I tried to guess just how much Larry pays based on how much I spend money for a/c and then I called a few Heating and Air Conditioning companies to get a bid for a new Heating and Air Conditioning systems! Of course, they could not give me an exact estimate separate from seeing our lake house first however it did seem that a new Heating and Air Conditioning plan would spend money for itself and only about 5 years based on energy savings alone. I would regret it if I didn’t do it. That’s why I stressed 1 of the Heating and Air Conditioning dealers to come out the following Friday. They said they take payments and this is truly the thing that I want to get done ASAP. I suppose this turned out to be a rather productive job afternoon after all.
