There were holes in the ductwork

At least we have fairly good ductwork to use again

I inherited a home that was built in the 1940s. A lot of the new installments were made over the years because the home was pretty basic in the truly beginning. There was no central heating plus cooling system, no data network, no special lights throughout the whole property, plus no security system. All of these things were added in the last 20 years or so. There were at least two sets of owners before us plus they both made some considerable changes to this house. It really came with entirely antiquated windows, however they were detached at some point plus replaced with storm windows. It’s even possible that these are the second iteration of windows to be in this space. The new rooftop is also fairly current by the looks of it. However, the abruptly-built heating plus cooling system is nothing to write home about. It’s functional at best plus poorly designed at worst. It’s got ductwork that regularly leaks air because there are so various holes in the ventilation ducts. I called a heating plus cooling system plus they quoted me an outrageous price to replace the ventilation system with modern metal ductwork. I didn’t want plastic-flex ductwork either, so I opted for a procedure where a substance is sprayed into the ductwork plus it adheres to the metal before hardening. It seals all of the holes in the ductwork from the inside. It’s a much cheaper procedure than replacing the ductwork outright. At least we have fairly good ductwork to use again. It’s not regularly losing cold air to the cycles.
