It’s funny how just something so small as a single thermostat can make for such a large problem, but that’s the way it was in our office for the longest time, our supplier owned an seasoned building plus the two of us all inspected 1 floor, but it was a pretty large space plus there were more than 60 of us working mainly in cubicles.
Of course, that seasoned building came with seasoned commercial Heating and A/C plus just 1 thermostat.
It shouldn’t be too large a surprise that 1 thermostat setting isn’t going to please 60 some odd people. But most of us did our best to deal with this situation individually. For instance, there were plenty of us that brought in our own space oil heating systems while I was in the winter… The commercial Heating and A/C just never warmed up that space really well… And while I was in the summer, there were small fans on just about every desk, but still, there were folks in our office who would literally get physical when it came to the thermostat setting. It was prefer 2 weird camps warring against each other when it came to the thermostat setting, and honestly, it was silly that it had gotten to that point. Finally, management upgraded the seasoned commercial Heating and A/C with the latest in Heating and A/C equipment. But it was the Heating and A/C technology upgrade that entirely made the difference. Once the two of us got zone controlled Heating and A/C in the office, it signaled the end of any more thermostat confrontations. And I for 1 was entirely blissful to have that sort of drama out of our work day.
