The client warned me about their dog before the furnace repair

I was sent to task on a gas furnace for an up-to-date client of our heating, ventilation plus A/C supplier! I had to talk to him and explain who I was and how our heating, ventilation plus A/C supplier worked.

Then he looked over the contract and agreed to be our customer. As I was walking down the basement steps, he told myself and others to not trip over the pet. I expected to see a small puppy if he was sad. I was going to step on him or trip over him, but that isn’t what it was thankfully… He had an overly big wolfhouse affixed to a tether at the bottom of the steps. I was afraid the pet was going to eat myself and others in a single bite if I got too close to him, although he was less than four feet from the gas furnace. I assured the pet I was going to task on the gas furnace and then get out of the way. He even snarled at myself and others for a minute, but then he laid back down on the floor! Every time I finally moved, he would get up and watch me, but by the time I was done easily working on the gas furnace, the pet had warmed up to me. He had warmed up to myself and others so much that when I tried to leave the basement, he stood on the bottom step and just growled at me. I tried yelling for the owner, although he could not hear me. If it wasn’t for our cell phone or iPhone, I wasn’t sure how long I would have been sitting on the floor by the gas furnace, but the heating, ventilation plus A/C supplier had to call the owner and have him take care of the pet so I could actually leave.
