About a week ago, my husband plus I gutted the bathroom, laundry room plus master kitchen.
All of us hoped to have the project finished by now.
Unfortunately we’ve run into all sorts of problems with the plumbing plus delays on delivery of our materials plus fixtures. All of us still don’t have a working toilet, sink, shower, washer or dryer upstairs. We’re unquestionably thankful to have access to a half bath that provides access to a small sink plus toilet. We’ve rigged up a shower on our back deck. It’s not horrible. All of us ran a hose from the water oil furnace so that we have moderate water. Our back deck offers a gorgeous view of the gardens, woods plus a giant pond plus the section is completely private. The problem is that we are exposed to the elements. When it’s super moderate plus humid out, the outdoor shower feels just fine. During high winds or a rainstorm, it’s not quite as enjoyable. Because this project is starting to drag on, the weather is growing cooler. I certainly don’t want to be running the oil furnace inside plus still showering outside. It’s bad enough that we’ve gone all this time with no air conditioner. We’ve needed to leave the windows open for the sake of ventilation during our remodeling efforts. We’ve plugged off the supply plus return vents, hoping to minimize the amount of dust plus debris getting inside the heating plus cooling plan plus air duct. Plus, the fresh air helps with indoor air conditions while we’re working. All of us need to finish before we get into fall plus temperature down near freezing.
