Really getting the most out of our residential HVAC

I’m so glad that I finally listened to my wife.

For some reason, I had such resistance to owning a smart thermostat.

Perhaps this is due to the fact that I tend to feel just overcome with technology. I deal with learning so many new tech and operational upgrades inside the zone controlled HVAC of work that I didn’t need more at home. Plus, I’d spent more time than I found necessary just figuring out how to program the digital thermostat. Still, my resistance to new HVAC technology was just stupid really. Two years ago, we replaced the old HVAC unit. That HVAC equipment went more than 20 years which was longer than we expected when we inherited it with the house. But I guess that’s a testament to consistent HVAC maintenance. We got a new HVAC unit with a SEER rating nearly triple our old one. This was about the most efficient model that we could find. I was very much into saving as much as I could on heating and cooling costs. So why I didn’t have a smart thermostat installed at the same time, I just don’t understand. Again, it was like I was holding out or something. Finally, my wife got me to see the facts and we had a smart thermostat installed this spring. It didn’t take a month before it figured out our patterns and adjusted the HVAC equipment accordingly. Now that summer is coming to a close, I can attest to the fact that the smart thermostat was definitely the way to go. We actually maximized the awesome efficiency of our new residential HVAC.
