Our boss said that we’d be working without a/c for the day while repairs were completed

However, he said that we would be working through the repair window and would be without indoor cooling for the entire time

I am an administrative assistant for a glass installation and repair company. Before I landed my position here I was a basic office intern for a low key Estate Lawyer’s office. I don’t really know which place I prefer because each company has its advantages and disadvantages. The attorney’s office was old and had a broken plumbing system. Needless to say, that whole building had a nasty odor that seemed to cling to your clothing for hours after leaving each evening. Whether or not I was exposed to some nasty kind of mold, I cannot say for sure. But the people who owned that firm were clearly uninterested in taking care of the building for their employees along with it. I know I wasn’t the only one miserable from working in that building. I hoped that working at the glass company would give me a much better job environment, but I simply traded one set of problems for another. Instead of a bad odor and a poorly working sink and toilet, the glass company has a terrible indoor climate control system. In the winter we freeze in here from inadequate heating. And then in the summer we boil because the air conditioner fails to cool the place well enough. Finally after months of repeated complaints coming from our direction, our boss at last announced that the a/c would be repaired the following day. However, he said that we would be working through the repair window and would be without indoor cooling for the entire time. We had to work in stuffy heat for three hours while the HVAC crew fixed our commercial HVAC system.
