Opening the Windows at Night

One of the things I adore most about living in an area with a nice temperature is being able to open the windows… Don’t get me wrong; I embrace heating plus cooling plus am a fan of improving Heating, Ventilation and A/C technology… Even so, opening the windows at evening is appealing for me. I get to breathe fresh air plus hear the sounds of the evening! There are owls that live in the trees behind our backyard, plus I enjoy hearing them hooting at evening, when the air conditioning or heating is running, I can’t hear those kinds of sounds; Plus, I have to admit, it is often so warm here that I am forced to run the cooling system almost all year long. When those cooler weeks come along, generally in the fall plus Spring, there is nothing better than turning that cooling system off, opening the windows to breathe a little easier, plus enjoying a little of what Mother nature provides for us, then besides airing out the lake house plus giving all the people a little breather from recirculated air conditioning, living al fresco also gives us a break from those overwhelming heating plus cooling bills. It is not respected for me to use our furnace; both of us do have a couple of weeks when the temperature control dips pretty low, however that doesn’t happen every year. I try our hardest not to ever use the heater. The dry air that gets forced through those ducts actually bothers our sinuses, so I go for as long as possible without turning on the heater. The only time I actually have to is when it gets so cold that the pipes might freeze.
