Keeping up with the a/c maintenance

If you have a newer plus larger lake home, you no doubt have an air conditioning system device resting outside your house. If you are similar to most people, you might not have looked into how to maintain it. However, fantastic maintenance on your A/C device will save you a lot of money in the end. Not only will it save your family money on your energy bill, it will also save you from having to replace your condenser device as well. It might not be too hard to imagine that your lake home’s heating and A/C plan has several parts. Whether you use an A/C  and central heating system combination or a heat pump, your plan will have both an interior device plus an exterior unit. The exterior device in your homes heating plus cooling plan has both a condenser coil plus compressor, and likewise the interior device in your lake homes heating and A/C plan has both an evaporator plus a blower. Before doing any maintenance on either of these, you need to be sure to cut the power off to the heating and A/C device through both the homes breaker switch plus the shut-off switch near the device outside your home. Then start with the external unit. You need to wash the inside of the heating and cooling unit. Gently scrub the fins around the outside of the unit–any bent fins need to be straightened. Then hose off the debris around your external unit, make sure it is level, plus finally wash the evaporator coil. While it is a lot of work, it is absolutely a fantastic investment in keeping your heating and cooling plan running efficiently for years to come.
