I think that my life would be so much easier if I just knew how to do little repairs and minor maintenance work on my own air conditioning and heating system.
Honestly, I feel like I spend so much money on HVAC technicians having to come over to do the smallest things for me.
I know that if I just spent a little bit of time and effort, I could probably learn to do most of the things that the HVAC technicians do. If I just watched a few videos online, maybe I could teach myself to do certain things like checking my air filters and furnace filters and changing them out when needed. I could probably check my own A/C condensers and A/C drain, too. And as far as the furnace system goes, I could learn how to check and clean my pilot light in my gas furnace and maybe I could even learn how to check the heat exchanger in my heating system too. I don’t know, but it seems like a lot of the things that HVAC technicians charge for are things that I could do myself. Of course, I would never want to do anything dangerous like aligning pulleys and lubricating the motors! I don’t really want to do anything that involves the electricity or the gas either. I’m forever hurting myself and I wouldn’t want to burn down my house or blow the place up! Don’t get me wrong – I know that HVAC professionals are professionals for a reason. They know a lot more than I do, but I think I could do a little bit more.
