My wife had the great idea to install a radiator in our living room shortly after making some repairs to our gas furnace. The decision was made to add a radiator to the heating system, mostly because we had overestimated the cost of a furnace repair bill. Since we had so much money left over after the repairs were complete, the new radiator was just one of two improvements made to our home’s heating and air conditioning system. In the past, my wife and I would spend our summer days pouring sweat into the living room couch or into our bed pillows. That was life for us, as we relied on two separate window A/C units to provide air conditioning for the entire house. There were several things we failed to consider about the window A/C units though, like how they weren’t very energy efficient. On top of that, most window air conditioning models at the time only had one or two settings for providing cool air. Having grown tired of relying on underperforming air conditioning units, my wife and I replaced the window A/C units with room air conditioners! One was in the living room, and the other was in our bedroom. This was a pretty solid set-up for a long time, as my wife and I typically would spend our weekends in the living room hanging out and seeking shelter from the relentless summer heat. At night, we’d retreat to the bedroom to lay and relax together, so the room air conditioner worked extremely well to keep us cool and cozy.
