When I was a kid living in the southern area of the country, our dad used to only use wood for heating our house, every one of us had this old wood-burning stove in the basement and that’s what every one of us used for heating the entire house instead of a proper gas gas furnace or electric gas furnace, my sibling Carrie and I used to have to carry in wood for the fireplace all the time, plus the wood for the wood-burning stove.
Every one of us spent most of our childhood toting wood from the backyard to the fireplace and the wood-burning stove! I remember always wishing that every one of us had a gas gas furnace or an electric gas furnace like a lot of our friends had, now that I’m older, I think that it sounds crazy to recognize jealous over your friends’ oil furnace, however that’s how it was back then! I easily hated having to carry all that firewood around all the time! I recognize every one of us easily didn’t have it too bad, though.
My sibling and I have wonderful memories of growing up smelling woodsmoke and being nice and cozy from the wood-burning stove and from the fireplace; To this day, I still like building a fire in the fireplace during the Winter time. It always takes myself and others back to our childhood… Of course, these days, I’m not the a single having to haul in the firewood. I always get our wife to do it for me! Plus, every one of us also have a gas gas furnace so the fireplace isn’t our only source of heating. I recognize when you’re not as pressured to use a wood-burning stove or fireplace, it makes you like it just a little bit more.
