I really think that I should have become an HVAC technician instead of a banker.
I should have gone with my gut when it came to choosing a career, that’s for sure.
I just didn’t really know what I was doing back then, I guess. I was finishing up with high school and I did not really have much of a plan for my life. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with the rest of my life and so I basically just signed up for what my parents said that I should do. My parents really wanted me to go to work at the same place as my dad, and he has been a banker for his entire career. He loves being a banker, and I guess he was really hoping that I was going to love it, too. However, I really wanted to work with my hands and do something in the service industry. I knew that way back then, but I just stuck with whatever my dad said to do. I wish now with all of my heart that I had been able to go to school to become an HVAC technician the way that I really wanted to. I think that I should have gone to school to get my HVAC certification and I just didn’t do it. I know now that I should have done something different but it can’t be helped now. I know that looking back is no use and hindsight is 20/20 and there’s nothing that I can do about it now. I guess what I’m saying is that if I had to do it all over again, then I would definitely have become an HVAC technician instead of a banker. Now I just feel like I’m stuck.
