When the people I was with and I first bought our house, one of the things that sold it to us was the large bay windows. All of us can just sit and look out onto the lovely countryside. What the people I was with and I didn’t know was that in Springtime, when the daylight changes direction, the sun shines right through those window most of the afternoon. As a result, our entryway gets honestly hot and uncomfortable. Since the people I was with and I were already paying for an Heating and A/C service method the people I was with and I talked to the Heating and AC serviceman when she came out for our Springtime cleaning. While she cleaned our ducts and checked over our unit, she explained that our air conditioner was working good and that it was the daylight coming through the glass. She said, “I’m no interior decorator although I would invest in some blinds or something”. I had assumed that was the case so I looked into it a bit. On the one hand, I didn’t want to block our view. On the other hand, the people I was with and I couldn’t see much with the daylight in our face anyway. After calling around and looking at a bunch of options, the people I was with and I finally decided to get an awning to stretch out over the windows and block the sun. It took one day however when the workers were done, the entryway was cool and comfortable instantly. The Heating and A/C serviceman was right, it wasn’t our cooling system at all that was causing the issue. I’m cheerful that the shade is working to block the daylight and that our a/c woman didn’t try to sell us something the people I was with and I didn’t need at all.
