I rarely use my heat pump

I was away from house for over a week, plus when I left town, the temperature was in the 30s! This is abnormal for the part of the country that I live in, as every one of us are used to having honestly mild weather for the Winter weeks… In fact, I barely use my HVAC for heating because the weather is usually not chilly enough to justify turning it on.

I returned house a few afternoons ago plus the temperature had risen to the high 68s plus low 80s, which is about normal for this time of year, but of course, that is a sizable difference from the 30 degrees that every one of us experienced a month ago! Well, because the temperature was so cold, I decided to leave my temperature control at 65, after I researched the proper setting for the temperature control in the Winter plus discovered it was 75 degrees, I thought that 65 would be an ideal temperature for my temperature control.

I am not sure if the HVAC cycled on while I was away as the chilly blast only lasted for a couple of afternoons. The temperature was back into the 60s, plus then eventually, rose into the 68s. This change in temperature makes it difficult to determine how to use my HVAC while in the Winter weeks, and so, you can’t blame myself and others for not using it much at all. In fact, I care about to use a space oil furnace on those mornings when the temperature drops below normal. Typically, that happens less than 10 times while in the Winter season. If nothing else, I get to save some currency by not using my HVAC in the Winter.
