Last year during the summer months, I spent a lot of time complaining about the indoor temperatures in my home. It was muggy, warm, and totally miserable. My boyfriend and I moved to a mobile home a few months before the summer. I was accustomed to central heating and air conditioning. The mobile home does not have central heat or AC. During the summer months, we had to use window AC units to cool indoor temperatures. I complained frequently, because the monthly electric bills were through the roof and the house was never very cool. I told my boyfriend’s mom and dad that I was going to spend next summer with my folks. They didn’t think it was a very funny joke, but I was a bit serious. I didn’t want to spend another summer in that house without the right climate control equipment. When my boyfriend and I went to his parents for Christmas this year, they surprised us with a very expensive gift. The biggest box under the tree had our names on the front of it. They wanted us to be the first to open our gift. For Christmas this year, they decided to buy us a brand new window AC unit. The window AC unit has heat, AC, and a dehumidifier function. The 18,000 BTU AC unit is much larger than any of the machines that are already in our home. Next summer we shouldn’t have any trouble at all keeping the house cool, thanks to the wonderful Christmas present we received from my boyfriend’s parents.
