It is always such a nice time whenever the holidays come around and I am able to get some time off so I can go and spend time with my mom and dad back where I grew up.

After I graduated I went off to university in a state nearly 500 miles away from my hometown and got and started my career after graduation, so it is always a precious treat whenever I get to go home! Most people would simply stay at their parents house whenever they go home for the holidays in order to save some money, but I actually refuse to do so.

My parents are great, but they are cheapskates when it comes to everything. Even in the coldest of Winter time days they only operate the heated gas oil furnace in the early day hours. This means that the rest of the time the house is chilly cold! No matter how many times I beg my parents to run the heated gas oil furnace more often or even when I offer to buy them a newer device that is more energy efficient for them, they always deny the offer, but due to this, I stay at a 5 star hotel in neighborhood while I am on my visits. At the hotel I am spoiled with radiant flooring, fresh lavender scented towels, and 24 hour room service! I love spending most of my time with my parents whenever I am down here, but it sure is nice when the evening comes around and I get to go warm up and relax in a place that isn’t afraid to spend some money on keeping people warm.
