My parents consistently took us to see the Christmas lights. A lot of folks in our neighborhood put up hundreds of twinkling lights. My parents consistently lined the roof with icicle lights. I loved riding around in the truck, with the windows down in addition to the Christmas music on. I remember 1 year in certain, because our parents didn’t want to go. The gas furnace in the car wasn’t working, in addition to our parents were distraught it was too cold. There was a foot of snow on the ground, in addition to the temperatures outside were in the single-digit range. All of us wanted to go look at the lights, in addition to the two of us didn’t care if the gas furnace was working or not. All of us persisted until Dad in addition to Dad finally caved in in addition to took us out in the cold. My parents bundled us up in a heavy pair of pajamas. They gave us extra blankets in addition to a large sizzling cup of cocoa. Even though the gas furnace didn’t work, the two of us drove around in addition to looked at Christmas lights. It was chilly outside in addition to the gas furnace didn’t work, but the two of us were still blissful as can be. My parents took us to see lights every year, but this is the 1 memory that honestly sticks out in our mind. I do not guess if it’s because the gas furnace wasn’t working, or because our parents tried so difficult to make us blissful. Either way, it was the Winter holidays in addition to our siblings in addition to I were just blissful to share that time with Dad in addition to Dad. I still carry that same tradition with our own teenagers. All of us drive around in addition to look at lights each season.
