My boyfriend works for an SEO company.
They have web builders, analysts, content writers and social media posters.
What my boyfriend does is run the finances. He crunches numbers all day essentially. He tells customers how much they owe and makes spreadsheets of business expenses. He also handles payment to each of the employees. It is not difficult work and not life or death. He additionally works from home and has tons of vacation time that he has never used. You would swear my boyfriend works as a surgeon on the cancer floor. He always answers his phone when someone from work calls, no matter what. His boss frequently calls after hours and on weekends. We can be at dinner, movies or out with friends and my boyfriend takes a call. He also will boot up his computer and fix an issue no matter what time of day. I think the fiances can wait a bit. He doesn’t need to handle an online marketing task at midnight. He doesn’t need to look at a spreadsheet on Christmas morning. On one hand, I love his SEO job because it keeps him at home and is easy work. On the other hand, I hate that the business owner constantly calls and asks him to do things. My boyfriend has become a little insane about the job. He also feels he is so important and what he is doing is amazing. Really, making websites is just not that impressive to me. He is not making anything that is life changing.
