Concentrate Your Mind on the Present Moment

This is one of Buddha’s most famous quotes about life and achieving enlightenment.

I think if you can keep your mind fully in the present moment there is no sadness or anger.

There is nothing. Everything just is, as it always has been. It’s our thinking mind that makes the days better or worse, when in reality they are all the same thing. I heard to live like this is the last day of your life, but I disagree, I think you should live like this is the only day of your life. All we have is right now. My HVAC buddy, the HEPA filter salesman, was very spiritual and taught me a lot before he passed away recently. I’ve lost so many people and things in my life the past two years that I almost gave up on it all. The only thing that kept my going was my job at the local business doing HVAC system repairs for people. I think it was actually the people at the job that kept me going and I am grateful for each and every one of them. I like helping people with their questions about air quality or energy saving tips and I like connecting with them each day. I just need to really push myself to learn Spanish this winter and have it mastered by the time next summer rolls around so I can really talk with all of the volleyball players I play with and against. My HVAC rep friend speaks no English so I also need to learn it to talk to him more.
