Cabin fever leads me to study Heating and Air Conditioning systems

I have gone through numerous stages of new home fever during this lockdown, and finally I got to a single that was constructive.

First I embraced all the downtime, I embraced not being allowed to go outside as it provided me permission to sit around in our underwear playing video games and watching films.

After a couple weeks of that I was fatigued of our games, and had watched every film I ever wanted to watch. I started spending a lot of time on social media, doing nothing, and getting more anxious. Now I hit the period where I want to use the time productively, so I am learning Heating and Air Conditioning maintenance as much as possible. It may sound crazy, however how is learning about Heating and Air Conditioning systems any more crazy than learning a new language, or a new skill? Granted, I never plan on being an Heating and Air Conditioning maintenance tech, however the more I suppose about these things the more time, money, and effort I can save myself. It costs a bare min of $71 for an Heating and Air Conditioning tech to drive over to our house and suss out the issue. That does not include the cost of fixing the issue, or buying any new Heating and Air Conditioning components I may need, that’s the starting price. To me, that means the more I learn now, the less I will have to spend later on Heating and Air Conditioning repairs and service… What entirely blows our mind is how incredibly deep and complex the calculus and mechanics of Heating and Air Conditioning systems are, there is no way I’m smart enough to do this for a living!
