Burt had a face palm moment earlier this week all because of his HEPA air filter. So a few afternoons ago, Burt noticed there was reduced efficiency with his a/c. The cooling system was still working, but it was taking progressively longer and longer to cool his lake house as it should be. It also started making an unusual noise, which was concerning. Burt needed his cooling system to be working as efficiently as possible, because they are in the midst of summer, and the temperatures outside are incredibly heated. Well, he has no Heating, Ventilation and A/C specialist, so Burt chose the smart thing to do which was to call one of the professional heating and cooling techs out here to repair the problem. He called and scheduled an appointment, and the cooling tech was able to come out the next morning. When the tech did come out, he didn’t have to do any repairs at all. Why? Because the problem was Burt’s HEPA air filter. He had completely forgotten to change out the A/C filter. The filter was jammed and caused concerns. Burt can’t believe he forgot such a vital part of taking care of the A/C equipment. He was sure the cooling tech was thinking he was a moron. Thankfully, after a filter change, his A/C was back to working like new, and combating the hot temperatures. He will not be making that mistake again, even if he has to set reminders on his phone about the air filters.
