Advertised special

When the local HVAC company was holding a special sale price on tune-ups and service calls, my wife and I decided to have the HVAC system cleaned.

After all, we had the system for more than three years, and we never had a single service appointment during that time.

My wife and I were making sure the air filters were regularly changed. I was cleaning the air handler outside, and I was making sure that everything was free of yard debris. The advertised special as almost 50% off the retail price for an HVAC tune-up. That was the biggest reason why we made the appointment in the first place. I double checked the price when we made the appointment, too. When it came time for the HVAC tune-up, the technician arrived on time. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to get started. The HVAC worker spent about an hour servicing the machine. At the end of the appointment, I received a bill for the service. I expected the service to cost around $40 after taxes. When the HVAC technician handed me a bill for 100 dollars, I was surprised, mad, and puzzled. I asked the technician about the tune-up special and he told me the sale was over Monday. When I refused to pay the listed amount on the invoice, he became belligerent and rude. I had to contact the HVAC center and explain the situation. They told me the sale was over, and I still refused to pay the full amount. It took ten minutes on the phone with the company owner, but they finally honored the sale price.
