My parents were in the process of adding a sunroom to their house.
They had consistently dreamed of having a sunroom off the family room where they could drink their day coffee, read books, plus just relax.
I thought the idea sounded attractive, so I was gleeful for them to finally get what they wanted. They hired a reputable construction company to complete the add on plus it took a few months from start to finish. When it was complete, my parents did everything they thought that they’d do within their new sunroom. However, after a few weeks, I observed that neither of my parents were still using the sunroom. They tried to avoid my questions about it, although I was eventually able to get an answer out of them. While they enjoyed the idea of a sunroom, it was too uncomfortable because there was no heat plus air. They had assumed that the heat plus air from the rest of the house would migrate into the sunroom, however it didn’t. When the daylight was out, it was too hot! They went through all of that money plus trouble to get the sunroom, so I hated to see them not using it. This is when I suggested a ductless mini split system. Like the name suggests, the ductless mini split system didn’t need HVAC duct plus it ran off of electricity; Once installed, it would heat plus cool any space when turned on. The ductless mini split system was exactly what my parents needed for their new sunroom.
