I am a dolphin by day, when I am working at the aquarium.
I’m not actually a dolphin, but I do work with the dolphins and they call me a dolphin girl.
I love working with the dolphins because they truly are very smart animals. They were the first ones to notice that we were having a problem with the heating in the aquarium. They seemed to be shying away from one part of their pool and keeping close to the other end. I had to do some investigation, so I called our on site HVAC team. They came over to look at that section of the aquarium and they found that there was a slight leak in the gas line to the heater. For some reason, the heating system was overheating and causing minute amounts of gas to go into the water. It was what the dolphins had sensed. The first technician told me that he hadn’t received any service calls before and he wanted to know how I knew there was a problem. I told him about the behavior of the dolphins and how the other fish were also beginning to shy away from that area. It took them awhile to figure out what was going on, but within a couple hours, they had the situation rectified. Once then heating system was fixed and the heaters were working properly, the dolphins were once again going to that part of the pool. Without the intelligence of the dolphins to give me a signal that something was wrong with the HVAC system, we could have had a major die off of our fish.
