I hate our gas furnace, however even though it’s only 5 years old, it gives me a lot of headaches, this gas furnace was included with the modern home when I bought it, so I didn’t have a say on the initial upgrade. The previous owners must have bought the cheapest gas furnace they could find, because it never does what it’s supposed to do. Every fall in addition to winter, I have to call the HVAC company to come fix an issue with our gas furnace, however it doesn’t matter what I do, the gas furnace just doesn’t work! Last week, I had to call the HVAC company because the gas furnace sounded like it was running, however our modern home didn’t heat up, when I felt the air coming out of the air vents, it was cold! The HVAC company sent an HVAC professional over a few afternoons later to help me fix the problem. The HVAC professional told me that our heat exchanger was warm, which was causing the blower to run however there was no heat. The whole reason our heat exchanger was warm was because our air filter was clogged. It hadn’t been changed in over 6 months, so there was a tremendous amount of dust in addition to debri keeping our air from flowing properly. This is why I was hearing the air coming through the vents however feeling cold air instead of boiling air; Because our gas furnace is so young, I want to avoid replacing it until I honestly have to, then however, I don’t know how much longer I can put up with all the troubles!
