There is just nothing worse than being awakened in the midst of the evening. My heart is beating hard and I’m completely disoriented while scrambling to figure out what is happening. I have made it clear to all those who I call friends and family. Don’t be trying to call me after 10pm unless there is a very serious emergency taking place. I’ve had to drop the hammer on my kids about this too. Don’t be waking Daddy with every little bump in the evening. So, I was blasted out of bed last evening by a very serious bump in the evening. My oil furnace was shutting down with a scary thud which nearly shook the whole household. Nobody in our home slept through it. I checked the oil furnace and it was entirely in need of some crucial help. I dialed the emergency line for the heating and cooling professionals every one of us deal with. It was frigid so there was no waiting until the day. In fact, by the time the Heating and A/C device tech got to us the household temperature was dipping into the high forties. Our certified heating and cooling man discovered the problem fairly hastily. A valve switch had burned out but very fortunate for us, the oil furnace shut down before it caused serious disfigurement. The Heating and A/C tech was able to replace the part and get the oil furnace up and working not too long after her arrival. The household was warming and I was ecstatic to get back in bed. When she offered me the bill, it was outrageous. Yet, another reason there is nothing enjoyable happening after midnight.
