I have one of those uncles who has a story for pretty much everything. This guy can deliver more advice and quotations than any guy I have ever met in my entire life. I try to factor in that he comes from a much different time than I do. Many of his ideas and philosophies are straight black and white. There just isn’t much room for any gray area for this man. However, there are often some real words of wisdom in his tirades sometimes. For instance, he told me that finding a trusted mechanic could be more vital than finding a fantastic doctor. That one has turned out to be very true over the years. The same can be said for HVAC appliance workers. I’m really fortunate to have an HVAC guy who happens to be more like family than a serviceman. This guy has regularly been a top notch pro with amazing skills. And, he has been there for me through a lot of years and some crucial situations. My father recently moved down here because he just can’t be on his own anymore. His a/c appliance went out just months after he first arrived. I was in the first stages of moving him in with me until both of us could get his a new HVAC appliance. But, our faithful HVAC pro brought over a bunch of portable cooling units so he could remain in his place. He didn’t even charge me a cent for this. My uncle sure could ramble despite the fact that he was right. When you find a wonderful mechanic, don’t let them go.
