We Added Industrial Heaters and Fans To The Barns

We have two beautiful, red barns in our backyard.

They were standing here when we purchased the property several years ago, but we never had any intention on using the barns to shelter animals.

Instead, we’ve decided to transform the barns into a wedding reception. The larger barn is big enough for a large reception or ceremony. The smaller barn could be used for a smaller wedding, but we decided to turn it into a bridal sweet. Transforming two barns into a beautiful, finished space was a lot of work. We spent hours meeting with contractors so we could add plumbing, level the ground, and install windows. Before we were finished with the renovations, the contractor pulled me aside and asked what we planned to do for heat and air. I’ll admit, the thought of an HVAC system scared me. I knew how expensive it was to install and the barn definitely wouldn’t be insulated well. However, I knew my clients would want heat and air in order to stay comfortable. This is why we decided to install heaters and fans into the ceiling. We purchased industrial sized heaters and fans that were the best on the market for keeping outdoor spaces comfortable. It didn’t make sense to add a ductless mini system or central HVAC because it would be a waste of energy. The heaters and fans were able to run constantly, efficiently and with minimal noise. I’m so glad we were able to add some sort of heat and air to the barns.
