The Downfall To Living In An Apartment

Living in an apartment has a lot of benefits.

I never have to maintain a yard, upkeep anything that breaks inside the apartment, and I don’t have to pay for water.

If there’s a leaky faucet or the dishwasher is broken, all I have to do is put in a request and someone else is responsible for fixing it. While these things are great, there’s also some downfalls to living in an apartment. Last month, my air conditioner wasn’t working properly. The thermostat settings were programmed to 73 degrees, but the air conditioner couldn’t cool the space below 77 degrees! I could hear the air conditioner running around the clock, trying desperately to cool my apartment. I put in a request with the apartment complex about the air conditioner malfunction and it took days to hear back from someone. Finally, they sent me an email telling me that an HVAC professional would come the following day and I had to be there to let him inside. When he arrived, I told him about my air conditioner’s inability to cool my apartment. The HVAC professional spent two hours trying to fix the issue. He had to replace the air filter and then go onto the roof to work on the equipment. He didn’t leave until the air conditioner was cooling my apartment properly again. I’m so glad he was able to fix the issue and I wasn’t responsible for the bill. However, I was responsible for my energy bill that came the following month. It was extremely high because it took so long for the HVAC professional to be called. If I lived in my own home, I could’ve had it fixed much sooner.
