I’ve been so busy lately that I completely forgot to have my HVAC system serviced.
Between all the spring sports that my children are playing and the busy schedule I have at work, I neglected to take care of my air conditioner before turning it on for the season.
When I switched my heat to air on my thermostat, I told myself that I would call the HVAC company right away. Unfortunately, one day went by without calling the HVAC company, and then another day went by, and then a whole month had passed! I started noticing that my air conditioner would run constantly at night, even though our home didn’t feel as cool as it could be. Our thermostat always programmed itself to be a few degrees cooler at night because that’s how everyone in the house prefers to sleep. However, in the middle of the night when I was feeling overheated despite hearing the air conditioner run, I went to the thermostat to look at the settings. The air conditioner was broken and it was causing me a fortune to run since the AC hadn’t stopped running all night. I knew I wouldn’t call in the morning, so I decided to call the emergency HVAC hotline instead. The man on the phone told me that the emergency calls were more expensive, but they could have an HVAC professional at my door by 7am. I booked the appointment because I knew it needed to be done and I’d waited too long in the first place.
