After years of having subpar air filters, I didn’t realize the damage they were doing to my heating and air conditioning system. Honestly, even if you have told me, I am not really sure whether I would have believed it or not, because how bad can some air filters be? It turns out, pretty bad. I didn’t realize this though until a heating and air conditioning professional told me. I was having the HVAC machine looked at again by a HVAC professional. The A/C machine is always short-cycling, and I could never figure out why. I have had many different HVAC specialists come out, but for the most part they didn’t know why either. It wasn’t until the one HVAC worker looked and noticed that the air filters I had were cheap and mentioned it. Although I didn’t think it would work, I felt like I didn’t have anything to lose and so I went and bought HEPA air filters. HEPA air filters are known for being the best air filters, and so if my A/C device was still malfunctioning, I would know that it wasn’t the air filters. However, to my surprise, after a quick change of air filters, all of my cooling unit’s issues went away! It turns out the previous cheap air filters were causing the A/C unit to overheat, hence the constant issues with short cycling. I can’t imagine how much damage those filters were causing all of this time. I am so glad that the issue is fixed now.
