With the summer coming up, we know that we can expect some really high temperatures.
I know that I’m not ready for this weather, but I don’t really have a choice.
The only choice I had was when I went to a community meeting on emergency preparedness. I hate to think about some kind of emergency that may come up, but I really should be prepared. One of the things they bring up is that you should have your air conditioner serviced. When you know that it is working well, then that takes a lot of the worry away from whether your air conditioning is going to fail in the middle of a heatwave. Of course, when a huge storm comes up, there is always the possibility of losing the power and then your air conditioner isn’t going to work. If you are lucky enough, or you can afford one, the generator will pick up and keep your AC unit running. At the very least, getting the air conditioning up and running once the power comes back on, is much easier, when the AC unit has been serviced. They talked about how the age of your AC unit can affect how well it works and whether or not it is going to continue working after a storm goes through. I took a lot of information home with me, but the one thing I was really interested in is the fact that I should call the HVAC company. I wanted to make sure I have my air conditioner serviced and to make sure they checked absolutely everything.
