Although I live in the far northern area of the country, I’ve festered a hate for cold weather. I’m not a fan of snow nor do I enjoy building snowmen, making snow angels or having snowball fights.. I’d rather not have to bundle up in layers of sweaters, boots, wool coat plus gloves just to step outside. I’m annoyed by spending hours shoveling the sidewalks and plowing the driveway, and the friends I was with and I get so much snow that I am always required to dig out the mailbox plus shovel a path for them to walk. Anytime I want to go somewhere, I first have to blow snow off the car, heat ice off the windshield plus let the furnace run for fifteen minutes. I spend insane amounts just to have a warm home. The friends I was with and I get such a vicious winter weather that my furnace runs for months straight at maximum capacity. I schedule professional maintenance for the furnace every fall as well as replace the filter every week. All to keep it at operating at peak efficiency. With the furnace blasting, the air in my house becomes terribly dry. I then deal with static shock, frizzy hair, chapped lips and dry skin. It’s impossible to look beautiful in winter, then my goal is to retire and go far enough south to get by with a heat pump. An electric heat pump acts as an air conditioner in the summer plus reverses operation to give heat in the winter. It’s only effective until the outside temperature drops below frigid. I method to live in a space where that isn’t a problem.
