What a monster of a problem

Who though that heating and cooling systems could make particular noises that would alert the homeowner to get help from an HVAC tech as soon as possible? I never knew that this was possible until I read an article in the newspaper the other weekend. Recently, my heating unit makes an odd noise when it turns on however I don’t know that this particular noise falls under the category on having to reach out and get assistance, but the article was truly informative as it talked about the weird noises and what those noises could mean for your heating and cooling system. The first part described a loud pop or bang when the oil furnace turns on. Some other reasons for why there could be a loud pop or bang is that there is a dirty oil furnace burner, the air ducts are probably expanding and contracting because it needs to be repaired as the air ducts could be undersized, or a vent might be closed or a blocked air filter, and after I heard this type of sound I realized that my parents were just complaining about their heating and cooling plan doing this. I instantly called my parents and told him that they need to check to see if their air filter is blocked. My mom told us that their air filter was not blocked. I then told them that their oil furnace burner may be dirty and that they need to call a heating and cooling specialist to take a look at their air ducts to see if the air ducts are leaking or undersized. My parents just moved into this house and I don’t know if they had a heating and cooling specialist inspect the heating and cooling plan before they were thinking of purchasing it. I’m hoping that their Heating, Ventilation and A/C just needs to be cleaned and that’s why it’s making a loud pop when the oil furnace turns on.
