You can open up the windows for a nice breeze in the spring and fall months. Of course, we realized that it would be nice to have some sort of HVAC system to keep comfortable in the hot and cold seasons. We decided to call up a local HVAC company to see about our options for the enclosed porch. We had a really nice central HVAC system already. I was wondering if we could extend the ductwork to the porch area so we could get heating and cooling in there when we needed it. The HVAC professional was telling me that it would probably be too much stress on the HVAC system because it was designed for the size of the house, not the additional porch area. He said he had a good idea for the enclosed porch though. He said installing a ductless mini-split system would be perfect for the enclosed porch. This way we could have heating and cooling in there with high energy efficiency, and we wouldn’t have to worry about messing with the existing ductwork. I thought it sounded great, so we went for the HVAC installation and now our enclosed porch is perfectly comfortable year round! I honestly can’t believe how good that ductless mini-split HVAC works. I really wish I could have ductless mini-split components installed throughout my whole house because it really does save a lot on the energy bills.
