It wouldn’t hurt my feelings at all to never have to deal with bitter cold, snow and ice ever again.
During my life, I’ve lived here in the south and I’ve also lived up north.
But I can tell you that going forward, I won’t be leaving the south. I just can’t take the winter cold and all the gas furnace heating. Heating bills alone were crippling at times. There’s no way I could continue to pay the heating costs as they continued to rise winter after winter. For sure, I’ll just stick with the heat pump. While I have given up the chance for a white Christmas, it’s an easy trade-off considering the wonderful weather we have during our winter. I’m happy right here in the sunshine and the mild temperatures with my heat pump running very little. But the heat pump is really just a genius example of HVAC technology. And really the heat pump doesn’t get near the recognition it probably should. The heat pump is so good that it simply is an essential that’s taken for granted. Yet, I know that I’m lucky to have such great residential HVAC thanks to my heat pump. Like I said earlier, we don’t need much heating down here during the winter. Of course when the summer rolls around, the heat pump springs to life to supply all the air conditioning we need. But when it comes to winter, I’ll certainly trade for a heat pump over a gas furnace every time. It’s just so nice to have all the quality heating and air I need coming from once source, the heat pump.
