A super slow day at the office brought on a long conversation about heating, ventilation, and A/C with me on top of my co-workers, i was shocked to discover that I pay nearly twice as much to cool our tiny cabin as our coworker Larry does, after all, Larry has a much greater house, it is more or less a mansion, then larry informed myself and others that it all has to do with SEER, or seasonal energy efficiency ratio! This measures how well your Heating and Air Conditioning performs… Most current heating systems and a/cs get scores of more or less 15 to 20, Larry informed me. She bragged and told myself and others that her Heating as well as Air Conditioning plan easily gets a SEER rating of 21. I am not sure that I understand how the scoring works but I do comprehend that antique Heating as well as Air Conditioning systems, like mine, might not even register register a score at all. That is why I pay so much to the power business week in and week out.
