Fool me once, shame on you – fool me twice, shame on me.
That’s the classic saying, right? Well, my air conditioner has made a fool of me and shamed me dozens of times at this point, because I just can’t seem to figure out what’s wrong with the darn thing! Over a year ago, my home’s A/C system started acting up for reasons unknown.
Randomly throughout the day, the temperature of the air coming from the system would suddenly be really warm, then return back to being cool. I thought there might be a clog in the refrigerant line of the outdoor A/C unit, but after inspection by an HVAC technician, there was no clog to be found. Then I thought that the outdoor unit might’ve just been a bit too crowded by nearby foliage, so I trimmed away a ton of the nearby grass and hedges to give it plenty of room. Still, the sudden drops in air quality kept happening. By this point I was already getting irritated, and for the next six months I tried to investigate every possible piece of the A/C system to figure out the cause. Even now, I have no idea what’s really causing the drops in air quality, but I have a hunch that the thermostat might be partially to blame. Either way, I’m going to have to bring a specialist in soon, because I’m sick of revisiting this!
